The Assignment: Research a design movement and then use that research towards making a poster on a current or social issue. The art movement I chose was Pop Art which emerged from the UK in the early 1950's. After researching, I had to make a poster.

This is the first edition of my research poster.
After critique from my first research poster, I needed to practice with my final. I added some dots inspired by Ben Day Dots and color I wanted to use for my social pastiche poster. The Pop Art movement used bold, bright colors so I wanted to do the same. I also made my research poster more simple and included artworks that inspired my social pastiche poster.
The social pastiche needed to be inspired from a current or social issue. It needed to be inspired from the art movement I chose and include ideas from my research. I am very passionate about the environment so I knew I wanted to base my poster on something like climate change or marine pollution. I also needed to include a call to action so I started with a hashtag but then later changed to a barcode on the final draft of my poster because it looked nicer than a barcode from Youtube.
These are the first few drafts of my social pastiche poster:
After some practice, critique, and advice, I knew I needed to take my poster in a different direction. So, I went with my idea of marine pollution instead, and started practicing with more dots, and added started illustrating a turtle.
Lastly, since artists like Roy Lichtenstein used comic letters that were close together and in different sizes, I reworked my title of the poster to mimic that idea.
This was my final result :
